Episode 15: Lisa Hollenbach: Empowering teacher voice to spread educational ideas
Little Known Ways to Empower Teacher Voice
Why is it important to empower teacher voice and how does it enhance teaching and learning?
As teachers we regularly reflect on our lessons. We all go through a myriad of questions when contemplating what went well and what went wrong in our lessons; mainly what went wrong and how to correct it! But how does finding your teacher voice and sharing it with the educational community, lead to new teaching and learning ideas, approaches and connections? How do you find your voice, what vehicle do you use to share it and would anyone want to hear what you have to say?
Lisa Hollenbach of the National Blogging Collaborative believes that it is important for teachers to find and cultivate their voice in order to spread thought-provoking and practical ideas in education.
Together Lisa and I discuss how to empower teacher voice, how to enrich reflective practice through writing, how to collaborate with other practitioners and acquire feedback to enhance your teaching practice.
